Our products are great for our clients needs and are great for the environment too! Some of our products are made right here in British Columbia and are made with love.

Since the beginning, we’ve focused on crafting quality products that are scientifically engineered to work, and express our distinctive style and spirit. Our style is a reflection of our curiosity and openness to the world – different cultures, customs, and people that truly inspire us – and our Italian perspective of history and art, design and fashion, culture and lifestyle because it is our heritage and who we are. We love things that reflect simplicity and harmony because their beauty is always modern. And although we’re in tune with today’s mood, we set out to create concepts and products that are destined to become classics with their timeless appeal.

Quality to us means having the freedom to create the best products with attention and respect for our environment, using high grade, natural ingredients, and applying scientific rigor to every product to guarantee our customers’ safety. Quality is also intended by all of us, by our partners and consumers as quality of life.

At Davines, we dare to do what we believe in and, rather than conforming to the mainstream, allow intuition to pave our path. This gives us the freedom to develop concepts and products that are original, authentic, and emotionally connected with people. Our work is a thoughtful balance of substance and style, nature and science, people and spirit. It is what enables us to create what we call life-enhancing projects.

More than two decades later, the Davines community spans over 75 countries, thousands of salons and hundreds upon hundreds of passionate hairdressers. Although we continue to grow, with headquarters in Parma, New York City, Paris, London and Mexico City, our roots are firmly planted in our beginnings as a family-owned research laboratory guided by the same desire for quality products with an authentic approach and timeless appeal.

After about 10 years as a salon owner I became increasingly frustrated at my endless search to find a beautiful hair care collection. I wanted something that wasn't managed by reps working for mega corporations. I wanted something with slick, relevant design elements that would better reflect the wildly creative industry I felt part of.

I decided at that point out of necessity that I would build my own hair care collection. I spent about two years pouring over old recipes and ancient concoctions at the library. I started compiling lists of ingredients and beauty recipes from every corner of the planet and time. I experimented in my kitchen like a mad scientist building the line piece by piece. Finally I had the entire 26 products mapped out with key ingredients / essential oil blends and performance benchmarks. At that point I hired a cosmetic chemist who I worked with for the next three years until our collection was finally ready for market.

The collection is comprised of single action components. Barber and Fritz is like a palette of primary colours designed to mix and layer and develop ones own recipes. B&F doesn't promote pre/mixed ready to use products that easily squeeze from tubes. Its messy, creative and beautiful. These are tools for artists, they won't think for you - you will need to develop a language and relationship with the line and create your very own concoctions.

Our tools should be special, they should represent our artistry, they should be made with love, beautiful ingredients and inspiring design. We are artists and the tools we use should reflect that.

Barber and Fritz was not built in a boardroom it was not built for profit it has been built out of a love of the craft of hair and a love of the lost art of the beauty ritual. There's a part of me that would love to say that this line is a result of a culmination of a bunch super fancy, important professionals but the truth is its me. The creative team I've aligned myself with support, inspire and guide me, however the onus is all mine. I have shot, edited and styled each and every photo. Developed each product, designed and written (with some help) all our content, labels and advertising. This is my magnum opus, I am grateful for the opportunity to share my love of art, design, photography, beautiful objects, beauty ritual, recipe development and the craft of hairdressing with a broad like minded community.  - Ila Angel Marisa Meens

At Elate Cosmetics, our mission is to care for each other, our communities, and our world. Through healthy ingredients, sustainable practices, and wellness minded goals, we strive to build confidence through kindness, and allow you to create your own standard of beauty. We value spirit, kindness, wellness, community, and authenticity. Elate cosmetics won't compromise your skin, your lifestyle, or the earth. Beautiful colours, skin loving ingredients, and sustainable packaging.

For many of us, putting on makeup is an automatic act, a routine. At Elate Cosmetics, we believe everyday routine becomes ritual when the action is more meaningful than the outcome. We believe true beauty is in the ritual itself. The small measures of self-care we afford ourselves daily are the seeds of self-love we plant to grow more confident, more powerful and more beautiful then we could ever imagine.

At Elate cosmetics we want to empower all women to make healthy choices and use the best possible products for their daily ritual. Products that support women in need, and are kind in every way possible. Putting on mascara, isn't going to change the world. But, it may change your perception of yourself, just a little, so you can. So, go forth, and feel beautiful. ~Melodie Reynolds, Founder

David and Alexis Thurston, creators of nationally recognized brands Butterfly Loft and Butterfly Circus, are the architects behind Pulp Riot, an innovative new hair color company that empowers stylists to think of themselves as artists while providing them with superior paint to create their masterpieces. A team of high profile stylists, including Ash Fortis, Iris Smith, Jay Wesley Olson, Ricky Zito, and others was assembled to work with the Thurstons to formulate Pulp Riot’s line of hair color products. These artists are also part of the ownership group and each has a leadership role in the marketing, education, or product development departments.

This team of stylists from the beauty community had become more influential in shaping current color tends than the traditional beauty industry had, and they had become increasingly underwhelmed by the color options that were available to them, so they set out to formulate products that were easier to apply, had more vibrant tones, faded truer to tone, and lasted longer. The Thurstons rounded out their team by forming a partnership with Luxury Brand Partners (Oribe, R+Co, Smith & Cult, V76), a company comprised of seasoned industry veterans whose mission is to nurture prestige, artist-driven beauty brands.

Together the Pulp Riot team is on a mission to create a wholly new kind of culture, by taking a collaborative approach with stylists across the world through social media, innovative education, and large-scale events to create and unify a community of artistic beauty professionals. They believe that they are uniquely positioned to achieve their mission because never before have the people creating the products been so accessible and closely tied to the people using the products.  With the creation of Pulp Riot, the future of hair looks more colorful than ever.

Schorem is an old school men-only barbershop in the heart of the working class city of Rotterdam. The shop specializes in the classic cuts that have proven themselves over the decades: pompadours, flattops, contours and the other styles featured on Schorem’ famous barbershop posters. Since it’s opening, Schorem has been frequented by greasers, rockers, bikers, psychobilly’s, ruffians and other fine gentleman scumbags from every echelon of society. With more than fifty years of barbering and grooming experience these Rotterdam Barbers have now formulated pomades worthy of their exacting standards. As old school barbers they dug deep into the history of pomades to formulate what they belief are the worlds finest, Reuzel.

Reuzel is the Dutch word for lard and is a wink to a past when pomades were made from animal fats and fragranced with apples. The word pomade actually comes from the french word “pomme”, meaning apple. Reuzel grease in the green can is a beeswax based, medium hold pomade. It’s as sticky as honey and will pomp up or slick down every classic or signature barbershop haircut. The traditional pomme fragrance has been spiced up with a little peppermint in Reuzel’ traditional grease. Reuzel pomade in the red can is a water based, high shine pomade with a subtle scent of cola. Reuzel pomade rinses out easily but holds hair like super glue and shines like a fresh coat of paint on your favorite vintage car.
